HELP Friendship Group Fun Afternoon

On Friday 11th November Help Murcia Mar Menor´s friendship group held a fun lunch at the Puerto 3 restaurant in Los Alcazares. This get together was a good excuse for 72 members and their friends to enjoy a good lunch and listen to some great live music from Red Stokes, aka Terry. After the meal many danced the afternoon away and let their hair down shedding the years. This will probably be the last chance before Christmas for those attending to get together as soon many will have returned to families in the UK or headed off for holiday destinations around the world.

ELAINE´S LAST BOOBY

On Friday 23rd Sept. Elaine Dale held the last of her very popular quiz nights as a fund raiser for HELP Murcia Mar Menor, at the Las Claras centre, attended by 40 members and friends. Elaine who is the Vice President of HELP has been putting on The Quiz with a Difference for the past ten years and as a mark of appreciation she was presented with a bouquet of flowers by HELP's president Pat Massingham.

Three more Murcian Charities Benefit from HELP M.M.M.

During the last weeks of May HELP Murcia Mar Menor was able to make its last three donations to charities in the Murcia region from monies raised during 2015. Pat Massingham president of HELP presented Rafael Ros Bobadilla of Afacmur with a cheque for €2000. This charity assists families who have children who have been diagnosed with cancer by means of visits from psychologists who assess the home situation and then offer the help needed. Children in hospital receiving chemotherapy treatment are guided through the process by people who are able to help them understand and cope with the situation they find themselves in. Afacmur also organise summer holiday camps where the children meet others in the same situation and they are able to help each other in difficult circumstances. It also helps to give the parents a few days respite.
